We are very intentional about remaining independent and supporting other businesses that value community and quality in the way that we do. This is why you will only find independent, ethically made eyewear brands in our store. We believe that small businesses hold higher moral and ethical standards than large corporations and we only work with companies we feel good about.

For us, remaining independent is essential to being able to practice the way we want, offer only the best hand chosen products, and spend more time with our patients to provide exceptional, personalized care. Insurance companies place heavy restrictions on what doctors are allowed to offer and what is available to patients. We prefer to handpick our frames and use independent lens labs rather than allow the corporate overlords in charge of the vision plans to control which of their mass-produced items we are allowed to provide.
Additionally, we have state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, and our eye doctors are passionate about ocular health. That is why we include Optomap Retinal Imaging on every patient at no charge. Plus–no puff of air test! We know how much anxiety this can cause some patients so we employ a much quicker and gentler way of checking your eye pressure that does not require the dreaded air puff.
We view our patients as family and want them to feel comfortable and heard. We believe that taking the time to listen to our patients and care for their needs, and providing excellent, unique products is the only way to do business. Whether you have a vision discount plan, only medical insurance, or no insurance at all, we are able to provide you with quality care at honest rates. At Look East, we pride ourselves on offering fair and transparent pricing, and operating independently allows us to maintain our affordable rates and dictate the care you need and deserve, rather than jumping through hoops to provide the products and services that maximizes insurance company profits. Also, comparing apples to apples with our products and prices with your out of network allowance is typically comparable and sometimes even less than your in network rates!
We know that navigating the world of insurance can be confusing, which is why our team tackles this work for you! From figuring out your benefits to calculating your out-of-pocket costs and filing your reimbursement paperwork, rest assured that we will handle it all! Our staff works diligently to utilize your coverage in a way that will benefit you the most.
